PANAJI: Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant expressed confidence that the BJP, along with its alliance partners and supported independent candidates, is set to perform strongly in the Zilla Panchayat (ZP) elections scheduled for tomorrow.
Highlighting the government’s focus on people-centric and development-oriented schemes, the CM said that initiatives in agriculture, horticulture, dairy farming, and rural livelihoods have directly benefitted local communities, helping the party strengthen its grassroots base. He emphasized that such schemes have encouraged villagers to adopt new occupations and improve their incomes, particularly in panchayat areas.
Dr. Sawant also noted the government’s plans to increase funding for women self-help groups, especially at the zilla panchayat level, as part of efforts to empower rural women and boost local development. He said these interventions demonstrate the administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable rural progress, which he believes will positively influence voters.
“Our BJP flag will fly tall,” the CM said, expressing faith in the party’s prospects. He urged all voters in panchayat areas to come forward and participate actively, underscoring the role of democratic participation in shaping rural development.
The Chief Minister’s remarks link the party’s electoral strategy closely to its development schemes and welfare initiatives, signaling that government programs remain a central theme in the ZP polls.
