AAP has taken a strong stand against the rollback of DDSSY scheme inclusion for Covid treatment in Pvt Hospitals. AAP has been demanding this for months and also done a press conference on 24th September urging CM Sawant to consider inclusion of DDSSY scheme for Covid treatment.
“Late night tweet by Health minister Rane informing rollback of prior notification of inclusion of DDSSY scheme is a setback for Goans, it reflects the lack of coordination and deep divide between CM Sawant and HM Rane. Interpretation of the tweet of Mr.Rane clearly shows that CM Swant was unhappy with the notification and hence pushed for rollback. Is this how a Govt functions between a pandemic? No clarity, No vision whatsoever. It was also mentioned that many in the higher ups in the ministry were unaware about the notification. I want to ask why? How such an important notification can be released without taking authorities into confidence? Goans deserve an answer, CM Sawant must address a press conference and share details”, said Rahul Mhambre.
It was also mentioned that Private Hospital are already provided with ‘Specific Packages’ and are providing Covid treatment at a capped rate. What is the benefit Goans are getting from these ‘specific packages’?
“Goans want to know even if the rates are capped what’s the justification to withdraw covid treatment under DDSSY? What are the details of ‘specific packages’ granted to private hospitals? As far as Govt capped rate for Covid treatment is concerned CM Sawant played a gimmick. We are calling it a gimmick because Pvt Hospitals are making money by forcing their own regulations, people have posted videos on social media wherein pvt hospitals are imposing a mandatory stay of 7 days. Per day cost of Room charges are as high as ₹25,000. Pvt Hospitals are also forcing patients to submit advance of Rs. 2 lakhs before admission. All this is happening under the nose of Govt. and no action against this extortion.” Added Rahul Mhambre.
Govt is hiding facts on Covid management. The way Covid infection is increasing in Goa the infrastructure will collapse without any proper planning. BJP’s strategy of hiding facts and blaming people won’t last. Inclusion of DDSSY could have been a major relief but the infighting and lack of coordination within HM and CM is coming heavily on Goans who are forced to pay for their ego.
“Health Minister Rane said that Govt is spending lakhs on Goans, how shameful it is? Tell us where you have spent lakhs? Tell us how much you have spent on increasing hospital beds, testing facilities and Ambulances? We Goans pay tax and in return it is the duty of the Govt to provide facilities, you are not doing any favor, so stop doing such remarks”, said Rahul Mahmbre.
