PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stressed the importance of the younger generation in the development of the country and encouraged young people to enter politics in order to fill the void.
50% of BJP leaders started out as student leaders, Sawant noted while speaking at the Young Leaders gathering.
Sawant emphasized that new leadership is required from all facets of society, stating, “There is a vacuum in society; we need leaders who can represent everyone.”
CM Sawant talked on his own experience leaving his well-paying position as a doctor to pursue a career in politics. He recounted that despite losing his first election, he went on to become the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly and, eventually, the state’s chief minister.
He emphasized that these opportunities don’t come along very often and urged students to take advantage of them.
Additionally, Sawant discussed the significance of self-awareness. “Know yourself first, identify your strengths, and use them to contribute towards a viksit bharat,” added the politician.
He emphasized that many young people from outside Goa are already taking advantage of the many opportunities that are available in the state and encouraged Goan youngsters to do the same.
“Goa has sufficient money to finance youth programs. Avoid waiting for chances to come your way again. Act now because these opportunities may not come around again,” CM Sawant suggested.
Know yourself first, we have to identify our strength first, which will contribute for Viksit Bharat. There are various opportunities in the state which are taken by youth from outside the state. The youth from Goa should take them, there are enough funds to support them.
