There seems to be no respite for the residents of Mangor hill as the government decided to continue the Mangor hill for 15 more days.
Last weeks, the residents had launched protests removal of the containment zone. Following this a high-;level meeting was called by the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant was attended by Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho, Alina Saldanha and Carlos Almeida besides councillors of MMC.
Sawant told reporters said that the containment zone will continue in Mangor hill for 15 more days.
The Chief Minister disclosed that the meeting decided to allow people wanting to move out for work.
“There is no decision on lifting curbs in Mangor hill but who want to move out can do so after testing but will not be allowed to go there again, they will have to stay somewhere else,” he said.
The chief minister was of the view that with cases rising everyday there is no question of lifting restrictions.
“The government will make all efforts to provide free ration to every family and will sort out any problems they have,” he said.
Besides this, he also permissions will be granted for opening of vegetable and essential shops.
He also announced that the antibody testing in Goa would begin from Mangor hill.
