VASCO: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that the Narayan Naik assault case had been handed over to Crime Branch only to fast track investigations.
Chief Minister, who is Vasco today, said that police are doing a thorough investigation in the Narayan Naik attack case.
All the persons involved will be arrested soon,” he said, adding “The case has been handed over to Crime Branch to fast track investigation”.
Meanwhile, the Sancoale communidade members have requested police to investigate the extortion angle in Narayan Naik attack case.
They questioned why local villagers are not upset with the incident.
Sancoale communidade members addressed the media, demanding the police to probe the extortion angle in the recent RTI Activist attack case.
Communidade member Pratap Mardolkar while condemning the attack, alleged that RTI Activist Narayan Naik was involved in harassment of locals and extortion that may have led to an attack on him.
Mardolkar alleged that Activist Narayan Naiķ had filed many RTI complaints and filed cases on people, but none were taken to the logical end. Mardolkar said that while the incident of assault was wrong and should not be encouraged, he said that no one in the village was upset about the incident.
Mardolkar said that Naik had indulged in harassment and hence there may have been an attack on him, and the angle has to be thoroughly by the police.
