PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has urged citizens not to panic over the availability of LPG and petrol or rush to form long queues at gas agencies and fuel stations, assuring that there is no shortage of essential supplies in the state.
He stated that Goa has sufficient domestic LPG and petroleum stock, and emphasized that panic buying has led to unnecessary queues at petrol pumps. The Chief Minister also noted that a Union Minister is personally monitoring the situation to ensure smooth supply.
Addressing concerns from businesses, Sawant said that while domestic LPG supply remains stable, the government is actively working to resolve issues related to commercial gas. He said 20% commercial LPG supply has already been provided, and the quota will be increased to 40% from tomorrow to ease pressure on hotels and other establishments.
He further appealed to citizens to report any LPG dealers found violating rules, as authorities continue to keep a close watch on distribution to prevent misuse and ensure fair supply.
