OLD GOA: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Wednesday cautioned citizens against attempts to create divisions in Goa for political gain while paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanti at Old Goa.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “Goa stands for unity and peace. People of all religions live together harmoniously, but some are trying to divide us for political gain. We must resist such attempts and stay united for the welfare of the state.”
Dr. Sawant urged citizens to embrace Gandhiji’s principles of Satya (truth) and Ahimsa (non-violence) in daily life, promoting peace, harmony, and collective progress. He stressed that political unity is essential to building a “Viksit Goa, Viksit Bharat.”
The tribute event saw participation from dignitaries and citizens, reflecting respect for Gandhiji’s teachings and a shared commitment to maintaining communal harmony in Goa.
