CANACONA : After raising an issue of water mismanagement is reasonably denying proper water-supply to Canacona taluka, Canacona Municipal Council Councillor Shubham Komarpant now anticipating grave consequences are on the anvil, have alleged that there is a serious threat to life to motorists and others due to mismanagement of NH66 Canacona Bypass (Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road).
In a letter submitted to the Executive Engineer (Highways) WD – XIV, Margao, Komarpant have informed about mismanagement of roads by highway authorities in Canacona due to which the condition of Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road (MPCBR) is deteriorated.
Correction of undulating road leading to to accidents, lack of Signboards, Non-working road/street lights creating blind spots on highway, poorly engineered extension joints which are falling every now and then due to which people are scared that bridge might collapse anytime, heavily rusted iron railings on bridges which are falling apart with slight touches and unwanted growth of Shrubs on Divider are some of the concerning issues highlighted by Komarpant in his complaint to PWD (NH) higher authorities.
Komarpant has requested to do the needful as soon as possible to safeguard motorists/commuters lives and mentioned that many have lost their lives on this badly engineered road till now, and requested not to wait for other major incidents to take place.
