PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that the State Cabinet has accorded approval to Code of Communidade by passing an ordinance. With this amendment, the land use allotted for that particular purpose cannot be changed.
“Cabinet approves amendment to Code of Communidade; to restrain the change of use of land for any other purpose other than for which it was allotted; TCP, Panchayat, Municipal Council or PDA will have no powers to change; Ordinance to be issued,” said Sawant.
He further said that the introduction of Artice 31 (A) by way of amendment to the Goa Legislative Diploma dated 1961 communidade act to be amendendment.
CM also said that land use will not be allowed to be changed after the land has been allotted by the communidade for the particular use.
“Administrator of Communidade during the pendency of proceedings before it shall pass an order restraining the change of use of such land for any purpose other than the presuppose for which the land was so granted,” he added.
He said that on passing of such an order by the administrator no authority including TCP, PDA, Panchayat or Municipal Council shall issue any permission or clearance or NOC.
Revenue Minister Babush Monserrate also said that basically, the government has to start from somewhere, so from now on, Comunidades land will be utilized only for its designated purpose and cannot be used for other purposes.
