Panaji: Minister for Water Resources Subhash Shirodkar emphasized that collective efforts from citizens, elected representatives and government machinery are essential for meaningful national development.
In his address, the Minister highlighted the need to instil patriotism among children and future generations, while preserving India’s rich cultural and historical heritage. He spoke about the country’s steady progress in sectors such as education, agriculture, industry and technology, and reiterated the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Referring to development initiatives in Goa under Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Shri Shirodkar said the state is moving towards self-reliance and inclusive growth. He cited programmes like Digital India and Make in India as key drivers in empowering youth and strengthening the national economy.
The Minister also recalled India’s ancient civilisations of Mohenjo-daro and Harappa, and the contributions of leaders such as Emperor Ashoka and Samudragupt, who ruled with justice and welfare at the core of governance.

Highlighting Goa’s cultural heritage, temples, natural resources and tourism sector, Shri Shirodkar said these remain vital pillars of the state’s growth. Urging the youth to work with dedication, he called upon them to make Goa a model state and contribute actively to national development.
