PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today informed that his government commenced steps to start a State Achievement survey of students from Class I to XII every quarter.
“Government has commenced State Achievement Survey of students from Class I to XII every quarter and that tracking of students and teachers to be done to see performance and attendance,” said CM Sawant
He further said that teachers to mandatorily conduct remedial classes for weak students.
“Government has tied up with Vidhya Samiksha Kendra, which will, in turn, procure data from schools. Also, we have given loans to aid schools that have completed 100 years,’ he added.
Sawant announced that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 will be implemented across the state from the next academic year.
“The state’s higher education institutions, including professional colleges, stand to undergo the implementation of the NEP from 2023,’ he added.
AAP MLA Venzy Viegas has raised the question of whether any corrective measures were taken to increase the State score in the National Achievement Survey for each and every subject.
“Whether there are any reviews conducted to ascertain the reasons underlying the learning outcomes in the State and whether any measures were taken to improve the learning outcomes,” questioned Viegas.
