However, there has been no change in the price of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders.
New Delhi: Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹51.50, effective September 1. With the latest revision, the cylinder will now cost ₹1,580 in Delhi.
This is the third consecutive monthly cut after prices were reduced by ₹33.50 in August and ₹58.50 in July. Earlier reductions included ₹24 in June and ₹7 in February, while March saw a ₹6 hike. In April, the price was at ₹1,762.
OMCs clarified that there has been no change in the price of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders. The latest cut will bring relief to restaurants, hotels, and other commercial establishments that rely heavily on LPG for daily operations.
Price adjustments are part of the regular monthly revisions based on international crude oil prices and market factors.
Meanwhile, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recently approved a ₹300 per cylinder subsidy for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries for up to nine refills per year during FY 2025-26. The subsidy, with an outlay of ₹12,000 crore, will benefit over 10.33 crore households that hold PMUY connections.
Launched in May 2016, the PMUY scheme provides deposit-free LPG connections to women from economically weaker households to encourage a shift towards clean cooking fuel.
