CANACONA – After requests were received for 1 lakhs Sqm land from a Limited Company belonging to Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, Loliem-Polem Communidade has called for an extraordinary general body meeting to allotte the land.
Residents however, see this as a clandestine move to usurp communidade land in the back-drop of Loliem-Polem Communidade’s NOC to the Entertainment Society of Goa to set up Film City project on the lines of ‘I will supply Film City project, you give me land to set-up Multi-Fruits Processing Units’, decries the locals.
In a recent Gazette notification, an extraordinary general body meeting of Loliem-Polem Communidade is called on Sunday, 6th April at 10.30 am at Keshav Devalaya, Loliem.
According to the notification, Eight (8) applications are received from Mallikarjun Multi-Fruits Processing Producers Company Limited; require 1 lakh sqm land without the formalities of auction, etc sy no. 358/1, and accordingly the Loliem-Polem Communidate meeting called to allocate land.
Incidentally, 8 application files have been received by Loliem-Polem Communidade from M/s Mallikarjun Multi-Fruits Processing Producers Co. Ltd (MMFPPCL) for allotment of a total of 1 lakh sqm of land without formalities like auction, etc in survey number 358/1 for setting up of different type of fruits processing units.
Each of the files have specified the required square metres of land and the type of processing units to be set up , like 10,000 sqm of land is sought for construction of Jackfruit processing unit, 10,000 sqm of land for construction of Coconut processing unit, 10,000 sqm of land for Construction of Turmeric processing unit, 10,000 for construction of Mango processing unit, 13765 sqm of land for construction of Agro Cashew processing unit, 30,000 sqm of land for construction of Agro Dairy Farming Unit, 10,000 for Banana Plantation and Processing Unit, 6,235 sqm of land for Construction of Kokam processing unit.
Interestingly, it is learnt that the Mallikarjun Multi-Fruits Processing Producers Co. Ltd is a registered under Company Act Goa and have an authorised shares of 1 Lakh capital and the Directors of the company are Ramesh Bombo Tawadkar, Ashok Arjun Velip, Rajendra Hari Borkar, Ramakant Tilu Gaonkar and Upaso Gaonkar.
Eyebrows are raised over the request to allotte this one lakh square metre of land without formalities of the communidade code, besides the request for vast amount of communidade land from a limited company belonging GLA Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar assume significance, as people have already opposed allotment of communidade or any land in the Loliem-Polem village for other than agricultural use. The people of Loliem-Polem are already up in arms over the Loliem-Polem communidade’s decision to allotte sqm of land to ESG for setting up of a Film City in the village.
Loliem-Polem NOC for the ESG’s proposed film city project in Loliem-Polem, is strongly opposed by the villagers and green activists in the Loliem-Polem Gram Sabha and had sought the cancellation of the NOC for the project.
On the backdrop of the Film-city project, which locals have called for cancellation, villagers now suspects that the latest act of the Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar is a clandestine move to take advantage of the Communidade land in lieu of his support to the communidade’s issued NOC for the film-city project.
