CANACONA: The Comunidade of Loliem-Polem in Canacona has unanimously resolved to grant an aforamento of 1 lakh sqm of land on Lease to Mallikarjun MultiFruits Processing Producer Company Limited (MMPPCL).
The lease will enable the company to utilize the part of property bearing survey number 358/1 in the Village of Loliem, Canacona Taluka, for various agricultural processing and farming activities.
‘The Key features of the Lease are Storage, Processing, Packing, and Marketing the farm produce and the company will focus on handling farm produce from local farmers in Canacona Taluka’, informed Loliem-Polem Communidade President Vishwajit Warik.
The planned units as informed by the company include: -Jackfruit Processing Unit, -Coconut Processing Unit, -Turmeric Processing Unit, -Mango Processing Unit, -AGRO Caju Processing Unit, -AGRO Dairy Farming Unit, -Banana Plantation & Processing Unit and -Cocum Processing Unit
Confirming the Communidade’s Grant of an Aframento on Lease to MMPPCL, Loliem-Polem Communidade President Vishwajeet Warik, informed that this initiative by the company is expected to benefit local farmers and the community at large by providing new opportunities for agricultural development and employment.
‘Besides, it’s a long pending demand of all farmers and this initiative will boost the morale of farmers who will benefit for processing their crops and get value as per the market rate’, added Warik, expressing satisfaction and happiness over the outcome of ‘unanimous resolution’ at the extraordinary general body meeting of Loliem-Polem communidade held at Keshav Devalaya, Lolem on Sunday morning. A strong police force was stationed outside the meeting hall to avert any trouble or outside interferences at the meeting venue attended only by eligible components/members of Loliem-Polem Communidade.
According to sources in the Communidade the company has initially submitted their request in the year 2022, and accordingly after normal process the files have come to the Loliem-Polem Communidade. The one lakh sqm land of Aframento is however given on 20-years lease, renewable and will be reportedly charged at the normal market prevailing rate
