Panaji: The concluding session on Stress Management for Police Personnel was held at the Goa Police Gazetted Officers Hall, Altinho, as part of the Manas Mentors initiative jointly organised by Goa Police, VIANAAR, IMA Goa State, and Sangath. The program focused on addressing key stress-related issues faced by police personnel and strengthening their mental and emotional well-being.
The Manas Mentors initiative was launched in December 2024 by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant in the presence of DGP Shri Alok Kumar, IPS, senior police officials, and representatives of partner organisations. The concluding session was held under the direct guidance of Shri K.R. Chaurasia, IPS, Inspector General of Police, and supervision of Shri Dharmesh Angle, SP (HQ) & SP (SB).
So far, 14 sessions have been conducted across various police centres in Goa, reaching nearly 700 police personnel. The workshops have addressed essential topics related to stress management, mental health, and emotional resilience, with active participation from different police divisions.
The final session saw the presence of Dr. Shekhar Salkar, President, IMA Bicholim and Executive Member, IMA Goa State; Shri Aresh Naik, Chairperson, Sangath; Mr. Jones Samuel, Consultant – Public Relations, VIANAAR; and Dr. Devdutt, Secretary, Goa State Chapter, Telemedicine Society of India.
Participants expressed appreciation for the valuable insights and practical coping strategies shared during the workshop. The session concluded with a commitment to continue addressing stress management and mental wellness among police personnel on an ongoing basis, ensuring a healthier and more resilient force.
