Panaji -There has been a conflict between Tourist taxi owners and Goa miles and this issue need to be resolved in a right way, said Ports Minister Micjael Lobo.
After participating in a meeting xhairwd by CM with taxi operatiors, Lobo said, the government would try to find out a solution in the next meeting which will happen in this week.
Around more than 50 taxi owners had marched to cm residence at Altinho demanding scrapping of Goa miles.
“Tourist taxis owners are already facing the problem due the pandemic and now it’s been injustice on them specially with regards to above issue.There needs to be a solution and since Transport and Tourism both these departments are involved there needs to be clarity on which department will handle the issue,” said Lobo
He aaid Notification regards to the uniformity in rates is issued by transport department and not tourism.
“Taxi service should be in such a way that it will focus on tourism growth as well as benefit the local There are around 25000 tourist taxis in Goa.They are not demanding job but asking to support their business.Therefore uniformity in rates is must,” he said.
