PANAJI: BJP Goa Desk Incharge Ashish Sood said that Congress is not finding suitable candidates to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
“We are going among the public and telling about our achievements. I can say with confidence that Congress will not be able to field its candidates for both seats in Goa…Congress is unable to find suitable candidates to contest the seats” said Sood while speaking to reporters.
He further said that he can say with confidence that Congress will not be even able to field its candidates for both seats in Goa. As per the sources, Congress is not finding suitable candidates to contest the elections.” he said
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said and I also believe that we respect the nari (women). We worship the Shakti and do not destroy it.” he said.
He also “condemned” Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his ‘Shakti’ remarks. which had drawn sharp criticism from PM Modi and other BJP
“There is a word ‘Shakti’ in Hinduism. We are fighting against Shakti. The question is, what is Shakti? The soul of the king is in the EVM. This is true. The soul of the king is in the EVM and every institution of the country, in the ED, CBI and Income Tax Department.” Sood said.
“The BJP will field those candidates who will take forward ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Goa’ under the leadership of PM Modi,” he said.
BJP State President Sadananad Tanavade said that the party has announced candidates in larger states and announcement as regards smaller states was slated to be done in later phases.
Tanavade went on to add that even though the candidate has not been declared, BJP’s election campaign related work has not been hampered in South Goa. We work for our symbol lotus and will support and work for any candidate that Center gives us, he added.
“The BJP government has already declared 33 per cent reservation for women. This will be implemented in the 2029 Lok Sabha election. But as we respect women, our central team has decided to field women candidates wherever possible with a winnability factor,” he said.

Furtado claims Cong offered him North Goa LS candidature through a “third person”

PANAJI: Former Panaji city Mayor Surendra Furtado today claimed that Congress party has offered him North Goa LS candidature through a “third person”.
He also maintained that party is looking forward to field former party chief Girish Chodankar in South.
“”I was contacted through someone by IYC Goa Team with a proposal to contest in North Goa and
Girish Chodankar for South. They dont have guts to speak to me directly. Lets see what happens next” said Former Panaji Mayor Surendra Furtado.
Apart from incumbent MP Francisco Sardinha, party functionaries Girish Chodankar and Viriato Fernandes were under consideration by the party for the South Goa seat.
However, sources said that the party was also seriously considering fielding Patkar for the seat. “Congress wants to win and retain the South Goa seat.
