PANJIM: With Congress eyeing 2022 elections, the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) said it is all set to revamp its organizational setup. While the new and young faces will be encouraged with additional responsibilities, the party has shut doors for rebellions.
Addressing the media, GPCC President said that the High Command has asked him to focus on reorganizing the party for the coming 2022 elections.
“I had tendered my resignation one year back. It was with AICC. And since then I had left my focus out of party organization, giving attention to exposing the government on various fronts,” he said.
“But now the party wants me to revamp the organization. And as per the instruction, we have started the process. Various committees would be reconstituted and the active young leaders will be promoted with additional responsibilities,” he said.
Responding to a question, Chodankar said that party will ensure that young faces are promoted, even while giving tickets during election. “We have already shut door for rebellions. There is State executive committee resolution in this regard,” he stated.
Chodankar said that he along with Kamat would be monitoring the happenings at each of the block levels. He has appealed to all the like-minded people, including NGOs, who are against the BJP to join Congress party.
“We are getting good support from the people. The kind of response that we get for the agitations against the government is overwhelming. That indicates the mood of the people,” the Congress leader said.
The congress leader also announced that the various public agitations by the party against the government stands withdrawn for next ten days considering the rising COVID-19 cases across the State. “When we are blaming the government, we too need to set the right example,” he said.
