With deteriorating law and order situation in the State, the Congress party today urged Director General of Police (DGP) Mukesh Kumar Meena to ensure that public faith in police is restored
The delegation of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) led by its president Girish Chodankar called on DGP and congratulated for cracking Swapnil Walke murder case within less than 24 hours.
“We compliment police for swift action,” he told reporters after the meeting.
Chodankar said that they have demanded that the armed licences issued to the people with criminal background or those with police complaints, be revoked immediately in the interest of public safety.
“The people are losing faith in Police. The law and order situation has deteriorated and police are working under political pressure,” he said.
“It is high time that people’s faith in police is restored,” Chodankar said.
