PORVORIM: The Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting held on Monday discussed key issues affecting the state, with leaders reviewing the recent Zilla Panchayat election results and deliberating on ways to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
Senior party leaders analysed the performance of the Congress in the Zilla Panchayat polls and stressed the need for better coordination between legislators and party workers to rebuild organisational strength across constituencies.
The meeting also decided to convene a meeting of Opposition MLAs in the first week of the New Year to chalk out a united strategy to effectively corner and grill the BJP-led government on issues concerning governance, public welfare and administrative failures.
Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, along with MLAs Carlos Ferreira and Altone D’Costa, were present at the meeting.
