In this regard, it is clarified that the Governor has written a letter to the CM, dated 27/07/2020, wherein he has requested to defer the proposal of constructing a new Raj Bhavan building till the state finances improves.” Said Malik through a press release
The Governor said that he believes that at the time when the state is battling COVID – 19 and reeling under financial crises, the idea to construct a new Raj Bhavan is irrational and imprudent and that any new capital work would entail unnecessary additional financial burden on the state exchequer thereby exacerbating the economic distress of the state.
