Margao: As announced yesterday and keeping up the momentum, Congress delegation visited the site at Sancoale along with locals to assess the damage caused to the environment by the real estate mafia Bhutani.
“We will explore all options to ensure that the destructive project does not take shape. This is just a start & every village will be safeguarded by Congress,” stated Congress President Amit Patkar.
Congress delegation led by pPresidentAmit Patkar, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, MLA Altone D’Costa, South Goa MP Capt. Viriato Fernamdes today visited the site at Sancoale where a project causing damage to the environment is taking shape.
The BJP Government has created fear among Goans by allowing land and real estate mafia to use bouncers against protestors. We objected to the promotion of illegalities by BJP in the last assembly session, said Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao.
Capt. Viriato Fernandes while addressing the villagers said that Goans will unitedly not allow any destructive projects in the State. He promised his full support to the locals.
Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa said that the CM and TCP Minister should not blame each other but act against the Bhutani Project. He said the project should be scrapped without giving any scope to developers to go to court.
Congress functionaries Orville Dourado, Everson Vales, Moreno Rebelo, South Goa District President Savio D’Silva, Peter D’Souza and others were present at the site.
