PANAJI: Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) president Manoj Parab on Tuesday accused the Congress of “cheating” the party after alliance discussions between the two sides reportedly collapsed.
Speaking to the media, Parab said the RGP had been waiting for the Congress to finalise the alliance framework, but the process was dragged on without clarity.
“The Congress has cheated us. We were waiting for the alliance to happen, but they kept delaying and misleading us,” Parab alleged.
He said the RGP Central Election Committee will meet later today to discuss the developments and decide the party’s next course of action for the upcoming elections.
Parab also hinted that the party is prepared to contest independently if required, asserting that the RGP will not compromise on principles for political convenience.
