The Congress party in Goa has threatened to disrupt the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) matches in the State, if government fails to terminate various infrastructural contracts issued to non-Goan firms. The party has set four-days ultimatum to the government.
Addressing a press conference,, GPCC general secretary Sankalp Amonkar alleged that the State government has issued ISL contracts including that of bus and taxi transport, groundsman, security, etc to non-Goans. “All this while, the sub-contractors were provided to the locals. But this time, nothing has been given to Goans,” he said.
“We give four days time to the government to terminate all the existing contracts given to outsiders. Goans should be given all contracts,” Amonkar said.
He said that locals have lost business due to COVID-19 pandemic and its time that the government help them.
