PANAJI: The Indian National Congress on Monday rolled out its National Talent Hunt initiative in Goa, a programme designed to discover and groom new voices capable of representing the party at both state and national levels.
Addressing the media in Panaji, AICC Social Media Chairperson Supriya Shrinate stressed that the campaign is open to all, not just existing party members. She said anyone passionate about issues affecting society is welcome to participate.
“If you have something to say and want it heard, this platform belongs to you,” she noted, emphasising that applications are invited from youth, women, Dalits, OBCs, tribal communities, and minorities. Online registrations will be open from December 1 to 9, followed by screening on December 10 and 11. Shortlisted applicants will attend in-person interviews and group discussions on December 16.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Amit Patkar said the exercise aligns with the party’s wider vision of broadening representation. “Congress represents the Idea of India, and every region deserves a voice at the national level,” he said.
Highlighting the need for inclusive leadership, he added, “We must bring more Dalits, OBCs, women, and minorities into positions of responsibility. Growing the party means growing our ideology and reaching every citizen.”
Patkar also stated that the party’s decision on a potential alliance for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections would be finalised at a meeting later today, with clarity expected by 5.30 pm.
