PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today slammed the Congress and also termed its manifesto as communal.
CM Sawant was addressing the media after chairing the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting in Panaji.
“The Cong manifesto is ‘communal’; the BJP is a secular party; we have taken steps to address the OCI issue; even though Goans may be living overseas, it is our responsibility to safeguard their properties in Goa; Cong manifesto is not working,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that the opposition is saying that the minority is not with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but I want to state that the majority of the minority is with the BJP.
“They have full confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his guarantee and they have decided to elect Modi for the third time,” said Sawant.
Sawant said that Konkani is the official language and there here are attempts of many to make Marathi as official language.
“Marathi could be used as a medium of communication. Marathi language can be used for all other official purposes,”: Sawant added.
Speaking on the Women’s Reservation Bill, CM said that Ramakant Khalap had tabled the women’s reservation bill so why he did not follow it up and pass it?
Sawant reiterated the BJP’s mantra of ‘sab ka sath, sab ka visvas’, accusing the Congress of promoting division with ‘sab ka sath, lekin sabka division’.
“The BJP worked for the development of all sections of society, while the opposition, Congress, believed only in dividing people on the basis of caste and religion,” said Sawant.
