MARGAO: South Goa Member of Parliament Francisco Sardinha has said that there is urgent need for change in the leadership of the Congress party in the State.
Sardinha said that the performance of the party has descended under the present party president.
“I have shared my opinion with the party observer now it’s up-to the party high command to take charge of the situation and decide upon,” he said.
The former chief minister said that the people of Goa are disappointed with the ruling party and they are looking for a change.
“Congress Party needs a strong leadership who can unite all,” he said.
He further said that he was in Delhi attending meetings of science and technology but did not meet congress high command nor he has been contacted by high command, thus ruling out the speculation floating in Goan media about him lobbying at Delhi for party presidentship.
Replying to a query question regarding alliance for upcoming Assembly elections, Sardinha said “I am not the authority to speak on alliance right now, our focus will be on strengthening the Congress party in Goa. I don’t think NCP party organisation is existing in Goa. They have one MLA in assembly but he is sitting in the lap of BJP,” he said.
Further accusing Churchill Alemao, Sardhina said that Churchill is trying to fool the people saying he is supporting BJP on issue basis but the irony is, he still didn’t come up with any such issue opposing the government.
Sardhina also lashed out at BJP Government for not listening to people of Goa and failed on all fronts.
Sardina greeted seafarers on International Seafarers Day and also advised government to resolve their issues as fast as possible.
