PANAJI:The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Monday held a key meeting at the Congress House in Panaji to assess the party’s preparedness regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with senior AICC leaders stressing the need to protect every voter’s right.
The meeting was held in the presence of AICC Incharge Manikrao Thakare and AICC Secretary Dr Anjali Nimbalkar, and was attended by Booth Level Agent (BLA) representatives from across the State.
During the review, it was revealed that over 1.08 lakh voters in Goa are yet to complete the process of filing claims and objections under the SIR exercise. The party leadership directed all BLA-1 representatives to ensure that every eligible voter completes the formalities within the stipulated time so that no genuine voter is left out of the rolls.

The event was attended by GPCC President Amit Patkar, South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes, Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira, M.K. Shaikh, Virendra Shirodkar and Savio D’Silva, among others.
Addressing party workers, leaders said the victory in the Zilla Panchayat elections reflected growing public confidence in the Congress.
