Panaji: Congress Party has decided to shift its gear in view of the Assembly Elections which are just eight months away. AICC Incharge Dinesh Gundu Rao will be arriving in Goa next week and will tour the entire State holding meetings with Congress Block Committees in all forty constituencies to take review of the party organisation at the grass root level. These meetings will follow a major reshuffle in the Congress Party.
AICC Incharge Dinesh Gundu Rao held a Virtual Meeting with the State Co-ordination Committee which was constituted few months back to mobilise the Congress Membership in Goa. GPCC President Girish Chodankar, CLP Leader Digambar Kamat, Chairman of the Co-ordination Committee Adv. Ramakant Khalap, Co-Chairman of the Co-ordination Committee & MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha, Alexio Sequira and other members participated in the deliberations.
The meeting was also attended by the State Observer for Membership Campaign Prakash Rathod, North Goa Observer Mansoor Khan, South Goa Observer Sunil Hanumannvar.
AICC Incharge has given directions to all the five MLA’s, Member of Parliament, GPCC Office Bearers to come down on the field and develop a direct connect with the people. He stated that after taking review from all the forty blocks, there will be a revamp of the party organisation at Block, District & State level with re-constitution of the Committees. He has also categorically stated that a performance based audit will be done of all the party office bearers and only those who are active shall be promoted whereas the non-performing members will be given some other task in the party.
There will be review of the District Committees as well as the Frontal Organisations and necessary changes will be done wherever required. We are focusing on all the forty constituencies and will work hard to win the trust and faith of the people informed Dinesh Rao.
The meeting discussed about commemorating 75 years of Goa Revolution Day. The Congress Party will also join the All India Protest on fuel price hike on 11th June 2021 as per the direction given by All India Congress Committee. Every Congress Block in Goa will protest at the respective petrol pumps in their Constituencies.
