PANAJI: In a strong rebuke to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has accused Giriraj Pai Vernekar of spreading fabricated and hate-filled narratives aimed at diverting attention from the ruling party’s failures.
In a statement issued today, the Congress Party described Vernekar’s actions as part of the BJP’s desperate political strategy.
Amarnath Panjikar, Chairman of the GPCC Media Department, criticized Vernekar for attempting to mislead the public and target Congress leaders without doing any proper research.
“It is laughable that Giriraj Pai Vernekar, known for peddling misinformation, is now trying to target our leaders without even doing the bare minimum homework. Before pointing fingers, he should first read the Congress Party’s clear and unifying appeal – ‘this is not a time for partisan politics,'” Panjikar stated.
Panjikar also accused the BJP of failing to prioritize national interests.
He added that the party’s representatives, including Vernekar, are more focused on creating division than fostering unity in the country.
“Common sense and national interest are too much to expect from BJP’s mouthpieces,” he said.
The statement also called on Vernekar and the BJP IT Cell to revisit their party’s conduct following the Pehalgam attack, when BJP leaders politicized national security.
“If Raikar is so clueless, maybe the BJP IT Cell can spoon-feed him the talking points, as they always do,” Panjikar remarked.
Panjikar further emphasized that the people of Goa and the nation are not blind to the BJP’s tactics.
“The BJP is baffled, cornered, and exposed, which is why they are trying to politicize every issue to hide their incompetence and failures,” he added.
The GPCC reiterated its commitment to standing united with the people of Goa and continuing its fight for truth, justice, and the real concerns of citizens, regardless of the lies and misleading narratives spread by the BJP and its allies.
