PANAJI: Panaji Congress block today has submitted memorandum to IPSCDL CEO Sanjit Rodrigues questioning the failure to complete Smart City projects within the March 31 deadline.
Expressing its strong resentment and absolute disgust over the never-ending, repeatedly missed deadlines for the completion of Smart City works, Congress said that these projects have not only failed to meet their promised timelines but have also exposed the utter incompetence, inefficiency, and corruption within the IPSCDL.
“It is appalling that despite multiple assurances and commitments made before the High Court, IPSCDL has brazenly deceived the judiciary and the public by setting deadlines it had no intention of meeting,” said Congress
It further said that this is nothing short of a deliberate act of betrayal against the people of Goa, who have been forced to endure chaos, destruction, and unbearable hardships due to your mismanagement.
“The so-called “Double Engine Sarkar” has utterly failed to transform Panjim into a Smart City. Instead, since October 14, 2015, when people were first sold a false dream, Panjimites have been left with nothing but a nightmare of broken roads, incomplete projects, substandard infrastructure, and a city in ruins,” the party said
The only thing ‘Smart’ about this project is how cleverly public funds are being looted under the pretext of development.
“Even the few projects that have been marked as ‘completed’ are already in a pathetic state due to poor workmanship and rampant corruption,” the Congress workers said
