PONDA: A 26-year-old construction worker died after falling from a height at a building site opposite Ponda Municipality on Saturday morning.
Police said they received a call from SDH Ponda at 11:17 am on November 29, informing that a man had been brought in dead following a fall at the site. Upon visiting the location, officers identified the deceased as Ajay Yadav, a resident of Ponda and originally from Uttar Pradesh.
A UD (Unnatural Death) panchanama was conducted, and the body has been preserved at SGDH Margao for post-mortem.
Preliminary enquiry revealed that Yadav was working on a temporary side-beam centering structure on the fifth floor when he slipped and fell onto the third floor, sustaining fatal head injuries.
Further enquiry is being carried out by PSI Pratik Bhat Prabhu of Ponda Police Station.
