MORMUGAO: The Office of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mormugao Taluka, successfully concluded its Consumer Rights Awareness Fortnight Programme with a grand function held on Thursday, 17th April 2025 at Ravindra Bhavan Hall, Baina, Vasco, Goa.
The programme was aimed at spreading awareness about consumer rights across Mormugao Taluka. The culmination ceremony was held on the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day, with the theme “A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyles.”
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Krishna Salkar, Hon’ble MLA of Vasco Constituency. The function also had Girish Borkar, Chairperson of the Mormugao Municipal Council, as the Guest of Honour.
In attendance were key officials from the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs including Amit N. Sawant, Deputy Director; and Tulshidas V. Dabholkar, Assistant Director for Mormugao Taluka.
The programme emphasized consumer empowerment and the importance of sustainable consumer practices. The dignitaries highlighted various government initiatives and urged citizens to stay informed about their rights and responsibilities as consumers.
