Welcoming Bhardwaj, AAP Goa Convenor Elvis Gomes said that with the kind of experience in strategic management of party affairs that Bharadwaj has, AAP Goa will stand to gain a lot even in policy formulations in the 3 key areas of governance that he could contribute. Gomes said that Bhardwaj had played a key role in the elections this year that had led to the second landslide victory for the party in Delhi.
“Bhardwaj is among those who looked back to India after completing studies in US . He is very passionate about consumer rights, cooperatives and has worked in party’s trade wing. Those in the Cooperative sector, or in Consumer as well as trade affairs will stand to benefit from Bhardwaj’s experience”.
Atishi hailed Kapil Bhardwaj’s appointment stating that he was a long-standing volunteer of the Aam Aadmi Party who apart from heading key projects in the party has also had a long association with civil society movements. She said that Bhardwaj will help boost the party’s campaign in Goa.
Bhardwaj said that he was happy that AAP has been accepted by a large segment of the Goan population and hoped that he will be able to do justice to the confidence reposed by the party in his abilities. He said that his interest was to see that the needs of the common man in Goa are met on priority.
“At present we can see that the Sawant led Govt is floundering over Covid-19 management. Goa deserves a better Govt, one that puts its common man first and invests in important grassroots infrastructural policies like primary healthcare, education and affordable electricity” added Bhardwaj further stating that he was proud to be in a political party like AAP which was helping to bring about a perceptible change in the life of common man.
