Panaji: Cooperation is an instinct among human beings. Human well-being or welfare and prosperity are not possible without cooperation stated Minister for Cooperation Subhash Shirodkar and added that as we live together we collaborate, and help each other, thereby creating a sense of cooperation natural among people.
Shirolkar was speaking after inaugurating the Annual General Meeting /Board Meeting & Executive Meeting of the National Federation of State Cooperative Banks Ltd (NAFSCOB) organized by The Goa State Co-Op. Bank Ltd. at Old Goa yesterday.
Shirodkar speaking further said that although the cooperation movement flourished in some states of the country we have to do a lot more to reach out to the masses. Cooperation has played a pivotal in India’s economy. Cooperation has helped rural people to prosper apart from shaping the rural economy. Cooperation is a sector where we have to work together to make this sector a role model for the world he opined.
Minister of Cooperation Government of Karnataka Shri K. N.Rajanna in his address stressed the need to empower farmers who are the backbone of our economy. We have to extend them the benefit of cooperation to make them sustainable and viable.
Chairman NAFSCB Shri Kondura Ravindra Rao while speaking called for mutual cooperation from all the stakeholders for fulfilling the very purpose of cooperation.
He appreciated Ulhas Phaldesai Chairman of GSCB for making painstaking efforts to organise AGM in Goa.
EX MP Shri Chandrapal Singh, highlighting the importance of the Cooperation sector has played an important role in strengthening the rural economy. The banking sector in our country is doing very well. We have to work to empower primary societies which have connected to the living of people in rural areas. He appeared to work together to strengthen the cooperative movement in the country.
