CORTALIM::Cortalim MLA Anton Vas laid the foundation stone for the replacement of the existing 3-inch PVC water pipeline with a new 100 mm DI pipeline at Blue Horizon Residency, Upasnagar, Sancoale. The event was attended by Sancoale Panch Nidhi Naik, PWD Assistant Engineer Naresh Painginkar and several residents from the locality.
The project, estimated at around ₹16 lakh, aims to resolve long-standing issues of low water pressure and frequent disruption in supply. Residents had submitted a proposal to the MLA after facing persistent inconvenience.
Speaking at the launch, Vas said the upgrade was urgently required to ensure reliable water supply to the area.
“The people here have been struggling with irregular supply, and many complained that there was hardly any pressure. Their request for replacing the old pipeline was genuine,” he said. “The earlier three-inch PVC line simply could not deliver adequate flow. We are now replacing it with a 100 mm diameter DI pipeline, and we hope this new system will finally provide residents with better pressure and consistent water.”
Sancoale Panch Nidhi Naik expressed gratitude to the MLA for responding swiftly to the concerns of residents.
“We faced repeated water issues, and the pipeline would often break,” she said. “We approached the MLA requesting a replacement, and he agreed immediately. We hope this new line will permanently solve the water problems in my ward.”
