PANAJI: In a significant ruling, the North Goa Principal District and Sessions Court has quashed and set aside the construction licence issued to GTDC for the development of Unity Mall.
The court also quashed and set aside the orders of the Deputy Director of Panchayat and the Block Development Officer (BDO) associated with the project.
The verdict comes amid ongoing protests and objections from local residents over the construction, who had raised concerns about environmental impact and procedural irregularities. The court’s decision effectively halts the construction of Unity Mall until further orders.
