The COVID19 outbreak in the State seems to be entering a dangerous phase as the State recorded three deaths and 117 new cases on Saturday along with 81 recoveries.
As per the information received from health department, the three deaths included that of one female 80 year old from Rumdawada, one male 31 years from Baina and one male 75 years from Kharewada.
As per reports all were with co-morbid conditions and were admitted at the dedicated COVID ESI Hospital.
The release further says that there were 5637 samples tested, from which 1886 were negative, 117 were positive and 3634 reports were awaited.
As on date the State has 2368 confirmed cases, 928 active cases and 1428 recovered with 14 deaths.
29 patients are in isolation and 115 persons have been quarantined.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today confirmed that Goa is going through community transmission phase and there was need for everyone to maintain restraint by wearing mask, using sanitisers and maintaining social distancing.
Meanwhile, Rane said that the Apheresis machine for plasma has arrived at GMC and is ready for installation.
“I am closely monitoring the same along with Dean Dr. S. M. Bandekar. We shall be commissioning the Apheresis machine at the earliest to start plasma therapy in the state for treatment of #COVID19,” he said.
He said the Team Goa is steadfastly fighting this battle of COVID-19 to safeguard citizens from the virus.
“My gratitude to the COVID warriors who came forth voluntarily to donate plasma. These warriors fought COVID-19 and are now coming forth to donate their plasma to join us in our effort to fight #COVID19 through the launch of Plasma Therapy in the state,” he says.
