Goa’s tally of COVID-19 cases crossed 15,000 on Wednesday with 497 people testing positive for the virus.
The day also saw eight people losing battle to COVID-19.
Since January 29, Goa has reported 15,027 confirmed coronavirus cases, of which 3,351 are active cases. As many as 11,511 patients have recovered, while there have been 165 deaths.
As per the bulletin issued by Directorate of Health Services (DHS), a 64 year old female from Peddem-Mapusa, who was brought dead at North Goa district hospital, tested positive for coronavirus.
Total three male patients- a 52 year, 72 year and 62 year old from Fatorda- Margao were declared dead.
The other deceased include-A 60 year old male from Sanvordem died on the way while being taken from South Goa district hospital to Goa medical college and hospital. Another 43 year old male from Arlem and 63 year old male from Belabai-Vasco and 71 year old male from Chinchinim, admitted in ESI-Margao hospital.
There are another 98 patients in hospital isolation.
Further, of the total 2714 samples tested for COVID-19, 497 were declared positive while 1,914 were negative. The test result of 303 samples is awaited.
