PANAJI: As state has been witnessing spike in COVID-19 cases, the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) today revoked all the permissions granted for the film and television shootings.
The ESG on May 5 had submitted a file to the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant for approval.
“We have revoked all permissions granted to all production houses for shooting of their films, serials and web-series. This will be in force until the pandemic in Goa comes under control,” said ESG Vice-Chairman Subhash Faldesai
He further said that a notice has been issued to all production to immediately stop shoot shootings and vacate premises with immediate effect.
The nodal agency in state, the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) had issued permissions for nearly 30 shoots in the state.
Presently, 13 television serials, 5 web series and 3 films were being shot in Goa, besides various music videos.
As shoots have been stalled in Maharashtra , many filmmakers and producers of television serials as well as web series have relocated to Goa with their cast and crew to ensure that work doesn’t suffer.
