Suggesting that the rise in number of tests has been the reason for pendency in cases, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the testing facilities will be ramped up further and the pendency will be cleared by tomorrow.
The CM had come a cropper on the pending cases as the Opposition parties – Congress, GFP, MGP and the independent Rohan Khaunte took the opportunity to expose the shoddy COVID management of the State.
The Chief Minister this morning held a review meeting on COVID, which was attended by Health Minister, health Secretary and other officials.
Despite the pendency, Sawant was gung-ho about the State’s testing rate, which he said was best in the country.
“Naturally, there will be pendency when the demand increases suddenly,” he said adding the State will enhance its capacity even further. We have the best rate of testing in the country and despite that we will still want to improve.
Sawant stated that the pending reports, which had reached about 6000 at one stage has now been reduced drastically, will be cleared by tomorrow.
Speaking on plasma therapy, Sawant said that the therapy is working as the two patients who were administered the therapy have shown improvement.
“I congratulate the doctors and the team for successfully administering plasma therapy. The patients are showing signs of improvement,” he said.
