Team Goemkarponn
Dabolim: In a drive to safeguard public health, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) in Goa conducted a comprehensive inspection in the Alto Dabolim area, responding to a media post and a customer complaint.
At the forefront of this initiative were Designated Officer Sanjyot Kudalkar, State Food Safety Officer (SFSO) Shailesh Shenvi, Food Safety Officer (FSO) Sonal Govenkar, and Shruti Pilarnekar.
The team scrutinized various establishments, including restaurants, bakeries, and chicken centers, leading to the shutdown of three premises due to deplorable sanitary conditions. Another three outlets operating without licenses were issued stern notices.
The inspection resulted in the destruction of mawa worth ₹8,050, mainly due to improper labelling. To ensure future compliance, surveillance samples were collected for analysis, and several firms received improvement notices. “I commend the FDA team for their diligence,” stated Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, emphasizing that maintaining public safety remains a top priority and ensuring strict action against violators is a continuous effort.
