PONDA: Borim-Bethora bypass Highway certainly seems like a Death Trap for motorists as a huge crater developed in the middle of the road on Sharp turn poses a huge risk to the motorist’s lives.
Locals demand authorities take action before any untoward incident.
Sandeep Parkar, the social activist, said a huge pothole at the sharp turn of Bythakhol, Bori to Betoda Bagal road is currently inviting accidents.
A pothole in the middle of the road will likely cause a major accident day and night.
To prevent accidents, the motorists are demanding that the PWD department immediately fill up the dangerous pothole, he said.
“The two-meter wide pothole seen in the middle of the curving road has become dangerous for a small car. Many vehicles try to avoid this huge pothole, wjhich might have been a result of road caving in,” he said.
Locals said the traffic while passing through the rough route from Bythakhol Bori is already an accident-prone zone.
The potholes on the newly hot mixed roads have become a topic of discussion among the local people.
Many tourist buses, four-wheelers and heavy vehicles travel through this route.
Meanwhile, the National Highway PWD Official said the road is looked after by PWD Divison XVIII, and he assured to bring this to the notice of a concerned official.
