Panaji: The Crime Branch of Goa Police has registered Crime Branch PS Crime No. 07/2026 under Sections 21(b), 25 read with 29 of the NDPS Act, 1985, following the seizure of suspected cocaine worth approximately ₹15.89 lakh in the international market.
According to police, the case was registered on February 6, 2026, at 11.20 hrs based on a complaint lodged by PI Mahesh Gadekar of the Crime Branch, Ribandar, on behalf of the State. Acting on specific information, PI Gadekar and his team conducted a narcotic raid on February 6, 2026, between 1.10 hrs and 4.10 hrs at an open location on Gautam Hotel Road leading towards Goan Paradise Colony, near an electricity pole bearing No. LT062479/5 at Pilerne Marra, Bardez, Goa.
During the raid, police apprehended Omorigo Friday (42), a Nigerian national, who was found in illegal possession of white-coloured crystal powder suspected to be cocaine, weighing 31.794 grams.
The contraband is estimated to be worth ₹15,89,700 in the international market. Police also seized other incriminating articles along with a Yamaha Fascino scooter bearing registration number GA-03-AU-6318 under a search and seizure panchanama.
In connection with the case, Omorigo Friday was arrested on February 6, 2026, at 11.20 hrs and is presently in police custody.
Further investigation led to the arrest of a second accused, Sudhir s/o Gurudas Paleinkar (42), resident of H. No. 77, Barroswadda, Sangolda, North Goa–403511. He was arrested on February 8, 2026, at 18.50 hrs and is also presently in police custody.
Further investigation in the matter is in progress under the supervision of PI Mahesh Gadekar of the Crime Branch Police Station.
