PONDA: Police have registered cross complaints following a late-night incident at Shiroda on September 5.
In the first complaint, Runal Kerkar, a resident of Chorao, alleged that around 10.30 pm near Anganwadi, Shiroda, he was assaulted by a group of accused identified as Shubham Kothambikar, Harshad Kothambikar, Hemant (full name not known), Chandrashekar Kothambikar, all residents of Shiroda, along with six other unknown persons.
The complainant alleged that the accused abused and assaulted him with fists and further attacked him with an iron rod, cricket stump and bat, causing bodily injuries.
He also claimed that the accused damaged his Ignis car by smashing its window glass with an iron rod and hitting the roof with a laterite stone.
He further alleged that he was threatened with dire consequences, including being set on fire.
Investigation in this case is being carried out by PSI Krishna Gawas of Ponda Police Station.
In a counter-complaint, a woman from Shiroda alleged that earlier in the night, around 9.30 pm, accused Runal Kerkar followed her from Kamakshi Temple to her residence despite her disinterest.
She further alleged that when confronted by her family, Kerkar assaulted them, causing simple injuries, and threatened to make her life miserable.
