PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and MP-elect Shripad Naik of North Goa departed for Delhi in advance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 3.0 oath-taking ceremony.
They will be attending an important National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting, which is set to take place at the BJP headquarters in Delhi today.
The CMs of BJP-ruled States and the 240 freshly elected MPs will convene to formally elect Modi as the head of the BJP parliamentary board and allegedly to talk about alliance-building tactics.
Naik, who was elected to a record-breaking sixth term, is anticipated to advance from his previous role as Minister of State to Cabinet Minister. Nonetheless, since this time around the government will be an alliance led by Modi, the leaders of the State party are remaining silent.
From 2014 onwards, Naik was relegated to the role of Minister of State for several portfolios; however, this time, he is expected to be elevated to the position of Cabinet Minister. The head of the party reaffirmed that the ultimate choices will be based on the number of ministerial positions that coalition parties must distribute.
