PANAJI: Days after former Chief Minister, the late Manohar Parrikar’s son, Utpal Parrikar, resigned as a state executive member and primary member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Goa Desk Incharge CT Ravi requested Utpal to reconsider his decision and come back party.
“Manohar Parrikar has always worked for BJP’s win. I request his son Utpal Parrikar reconsider his decision and fulfil his father’s dream. Only BJP can give people a stable govt,” said CT Ravi.
The BJP leader further said that only the ruling party can give people a stable government. He announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah would visit the state on January 30.
“Only BJP can give people a stable govt. Home Minister Amit Shah will visit here on January 30,” he said.
Utpal Parrikar resigned from the BJP last week and announced that he would contest the upcoming state polls as an independent candidate after the party denied him a ticket from the Panaji constituency.
“I will be contesting as an independent candidate from Panaji constituency. Panjim people voted for Manohar Parrikar all these years because he stood for certain values. I also have those values in me. The time has come for me also to stand up to those values,” Utpal had said.
Utpal had further said that he is ready to withdraw from the poll race if the BJP fields a “good candidate” from the Panaji constituency.
Meanwhile, CM Sawant had said that the central leaders of BJP was in conversation with Utpal Parrikar and had offered him two constituencies to contest the election in the upcoming Goa Assembly polls.
