CUNCOLIM: In continuation to last Sundays protest at Cuncolim Industrial Estate, the citizens today conducted a signature campaign in which around 750 + citizens marked their signature as a mark of protest and their displeasure over rampant pollution faced by Cuncolim citizen for decades.
The citizens witnessed one Massive illegal structure reportedly being constructed by one still company namely Global Ispat into a non industrial zone of which the property belongs to Sociedade of Concolim, Prima facie upon inspection the area looks to be nearly 40000 + square metres.
The citizens questioned the inability of the government authorities despite several complaints by the local people and also by the local MLA and leader of opposition Yuri Alemao who had raise this issue on several occasions and also recently shoot a letter to the Collector south Goa for immediate action surprisingly there seems to be no action from the government for the reasons best known to the authorities.
Around 100 people were protesting today as a follow up activity to last Sundays protest aimed at waking up authorities.
