PANAJI: In a day marked by tension and drama, Cuncolim Union carved out a memorable victory, outlasting Betalbatim Sports Club in a nail-biting penalty shootout at the Rosary Church Ground, Navelim. The match, which had seen both teams struggle to find the net, culminated in a 5-4 win for Cuncolim Union, securing their spot in the semifinals of the United Trophy.
The contest began with high stakes, as neither team could manage to break the deadlock during regular time. Despite numerous attempts, the scoreboard remained static at 0-0, setting the stage for a thrilling tiebreaker.
