CURCHOREM: The investigation into a second FIR in the Curchorem sex scandal has encountered a setback after the 19-year-old complainant refused to undergo a medical examination, police sources said.
According to officials, the survivor had alleged in her complaint that she was sexually assaulted by accused Soham Naik between July 2025 and March 2026 under the pretext of marriage.
She further claimed that obscene images of her were later circulated on social media without her consent.
As part of the probe, police sought to conduct a medical examination of the victim to corroborate the allegations.
However, the complainant declined to undergo the procedure, complicating the investigation process.
Police stated that despite the refusal, the probe into the FIR will continue and other forms of evidence, including digital records and witness statements, are being examined.
Investigators are also looking into the alleged circulation of obscene content on social media platforms.
